NOW is the time to Create Victory!

Here’s how…

Our nervous systems are constantly overtaxed. We simply weren’t designed to be flooded with so much information all the time. It’s just not healthy.

The crazier our external environment becomes, the more important it is to stay focused and grounded on our personal mission, to stay in our lanes, as it were. It’s so incredibly easy to exist in a state of distraction, despair, and fear.

So what can we do when it seems hopeless? Create victory in the moment.

I know what you’re thinking: that’s impossible. Hear me out. Mental health is not cliché; it’s real. We are disconnected from ourselves, each other, and the earth.

It takes some effort, but we can choose to exist in a state of calm and wonder. In my battle with anxiety and depression, simple things matter. Move more. It’s summer; take a walk, find a pool. Water is so healing. If you have physical limitations, find a community that supports your movement needs. Oxygen flows when we physically move. We literally breathe easier. Simple things make a huge difference. Climb the stairs. Park further away from the building entrance. It all counts.

Be protective of what information is coming into your world. I was recently caught in a fit of seemingly impassable despair. It dawned on me, “Self, you need to find safe spaces.” Are notifications truly necessary? NO. It’s meant to disrupt and keep us scrolling for profit.

Turn off the notifications. Being informed is one thing; doomscrolling is another. A loving reminder: the goal of most media is financial—ratings, sales, and ad dollars. Learning to find uncensored information is a challenge, but completely doable.

The main message is to prioritize your own sanity. Find safe spaces where you feel understood, nurtured, and supported. Visit them often. It’s totally O.K. to say NO to a gathering or environment that doesn’t support your wellbeing.

Today, we have the opportunity to become self-care experts. Try 15 minutes per day without your phone. I promise you won’t die. I have to remind myself as well, we can choose our moods.

Creating Victory in the Moment……Never underestimate the power of your life.
